Ink Dynasty is an educational game that teaches Mandarin Chinese to children (ages 8–14) through a Three Kingdoms adventure. We have designed it to comply with the U.S. Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), Google Play's Families policy and Apple's App Store Kids guidelines. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
The app asks for microphone permission so you can practice pronouncing Chinese words out loud. We never record, store, or receive your voice. Single characters are recognised by a small speech model that runs entirely on your device. Longer phrases use your phone's built-in speech recognition (Apple's on iPhone, Google's on Android), which may process the audio under Apple's or Google's own privacy policy; the app only receives the recognised text, which it compares with the phrase you are practising and then discards. If you decline microphone permission, you can still play; only the speaking-practice features are unavailable.
Some optional features send a small amount of non-personal data to our backend service (Supabase). None of it identifies you personally, and playing offline sends nothing:
We do not offer account sign-in, so we never collect an account, email address, or real name.
To keep the initial download small, voice lines and cutscene videos are downloaded from our content delivery service (Supabase Storage) the first time you play. These requests transfer game files only; they do not send personal information about you.
The app offers optional one-time purchases to unlock additional story content. Purchases are processed entirely by the app store you installed from: Google Play Billing on Android, or Apple's App Store on iPhone. We never see or store your payment details. A parental gate (a math question) protects the purchase screen so a child cannot buy content without an adult. Purchases are governed by that store's own terms and privacy policy.
With your permission, the app may send local reminders to continue learning. These are generated on your device. We do not send remote/push notifications and do not collect data to target notifications.
Because Ink Dynasty (developer: Kaomi Dev Studio) does not collect personal information, there is no account to delete. The only data stored off your device is an optional leaderboard entry: your auto-generated nickname (e.g. "General Tiger 7421") and a score.
To request deletion of your data:
What is deleted: your leaderboard nickname and scores. What is kept: nothing personal — we do not store names, email addresses, or device identifiers, so there is nothing else to retain. Your game progress is stored only on your own device; uninstalling the app permanently removes it.
This app is directed to children. Consistent with COPPA, we do not collect personal information from children. The only data ever sent off the device is the non-personal data described above, and only when a player opts to use those online features.
If we change our data practices we will update this page and the effective date above.
